I installed an Autohelm 800 back in 1998 or so. I love it. There is a trick to getting the autopilot level if you use the recessed hole in the top of the coaming method. Install the fixed part of the autopilot on the coaming, and use a shim between the tiller and the rudder housing to adjust the height of the tiller so that the unit is level port-to-starboard.
